Panasonic aims to "bridge the gap between pro and amateur video user" by announcing a new prosumer camcorder, the HDC-Z10000, which has the capability of shooting broadcast-quality 3D and conventional 2D clips without the need to replace lenses.

JVC’s “world’s first” GS-TD1 full-HD 3D camcorder now available

Claimed by JVC to be the world's first consumer camcorder to offer full-HD 3D video, the GS-TD1 uses two camera lenses and two 3.32 megapixel CMOS sensors to capture three-dimensional images in much the same way that human eyes work.
A 3.5” 3D Touch Panel LCD Monitor displays 3D images without any need for 3D glasses, making it easy to check 3D images while shooting and watch 3D playback in the field. We'll certainly check that one out when we get a review sample; meanwhile, read all about it here.

Panasonic's new 2011 range of HD camcorders are clever because they offer the choice of either 2D or 3D shooting - depending on whether you use an optional 3D conversion lens. We show how the HDC-TM900/SD900 is converted to 3D thanks to an optional VW-CLT1 lens.

Just received here at SimplyDV towers is an early UK sample of Panasonic's much-anticipated HDC-TM900 AVCHD camcorder that allows users to shoot great-looking 3MOS full-HD video or - when using the optional VW-CLT1 3D adaptor lens - stunningly good 3D video as well.

Not only does Panasonic's new HDC-SD90 offer recording in full-HD 1920x1080, 50p (progressive) at a 28Mbps bit rate but it's the first 1MOS AVCHD product to offer 3D recording when using an optional 3D lens converter.
